Women should not have preconceived notions that they don’t make good investors, or are too risk averse. The first step is to simply start the journey – keeping an open mind, and willing to learn the right lessons. Women, in fact, have some natural advantages over men in that they can be less impulsive, more humble and more patient. We also are not as enthused by the rush of trading in and out i.e. buying and selling too quickly.
In your learning journey, a good qualified guide can gradually coach you to become a successful investor.
While reading this article, I am reminded of my own mother (who was a school teacher), now in her 70s, who started investing decades ago.
