Financial Planning for Women in Singapore

financial planner Singapore for women

The Straits Times article “Why Women Need to Focus on Financial Planning” published on March 4, 2018 reiterated how important it is for us women, whether single or married, younger or older, to be in charge of our own finances.

Budgeting, cash flow management, retirement planning, being adequately protected for the unexpected like critical illnesslong term care are all part of financial planning. And it is vital that women remain financially agile and independent as we age. Longevity is not something we choose. What is within our control is to plan adequately for it.

My female friends,

  • Do you feel that you are not good with numbers and money management?
  • Have you ever felt so frustrated with work that you wish you could stop working and have the financial freedom to do what you love?
  • Have you hesitated about investing because you feel lost in the investment arena, have no guidance or are too scared of making the wrong moves?
  • Do you worry about whether you can retire at the end of the day? Do you feel clueless about where to start and who to approach?
  • Do you have dreams that you want to attain but not sure how your finances can support them?

If your answer is ‘yes’ to one or more of these questions, you are definitely not alone! And I applaud you for taking this first step forward to take charge of your finances!

As a woman, I understand the challenges you face when it comes to investing and finance. I myself have gone through this phase in my life 15 years ago. I was nonchalant about my finances and fearful about investing, just like you. Over the years, I have read many books and articles to acquire financial knowledge, attended investment seminars and put my money down in investments.

And I can tell you with certainty that women can become savvy investors and they, too, can confidently take charge of their finances.

For my married friends, please do not make the mistake of delegating all financial matters to your better half. Sometimes, it is the women that are more capable of making smarter and more informed decisions than the men. Never underestimate your learning ability – when you have the will, you will find a way!

My greatest achievement in the field of financial learning was when I achieved the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ qualification in 2010. This is the gold standard in financial planning, a much coveted certification by practioners in the industry. Besides the fact that it is an internationally recognised certification, being a CFP® sets me apart as a true professional who delivers sound financial advice (versus product selling) through comprehensive financial planning. Financial planning is a serious subject and because clients trust me with their money and financial future, it is the right thing to do.

Having been through the journey from financial ignorance to empowerment, it is my wish to share my mistakes, my lessons, my knowledge with you so you can embark on this process and start realizing your financial dreams today!

I have helped many female clients gain greater clarity about their personal finances. When there is clarity, powerful action plans can be drawn up and implemented to help them progress towards their goals. They are now prepared for a sound financial future while protecting themselves and their loved ones for the present.
